Departing at 09:15 from Runnymede, home to King John's Magna Carta, the boat passes through the town of Staines - the ancient start of the tidal Thames before the locks were built.
Chertsey Lock is next on this trip, passing through Coway Sale where Julius Caesar forded the river and on to Shepperton. The boat then passes through Sunbury Lock which has a unique second barge lock adjacent to it still in operation.
On approaching Hampton Court, you will pass some lovely house boats, some formerly owned by stars such as Diana Dors. You are then afforded superb views of Hampton Court Palace.
Visit Cardinal Wolsey's majestic palace and then board the boat for the return journey.
PARKING (RUNNYMEDE DEPARTURES) : Please obtain a voucher from the skipper for free parking in the main National Trust car park adjacent to Runnymede boatyard.
